Salix Homes takes to the airwaves with new radio show

Salix Homes has teamed up with Salford City Radio to launch a brand-new radio show all about housing.

The new show – ‘Let’s Talk Housing with Salix Homes’ – launches on Wednesday, 6 March at 10am.

During the first hour-long show, Salix Homes Chief Executive Sue Sutton talks about the history of Salix Homes from our inception in 2007, when we were set up to manage Salford Council’s housing stock, charting our journey to becoming the stand-alone organisation we are today.

Sue talks about some of the challenges our customers and our organisation have faced along the way – from the Boxing Day floods of 2015, to the pandemic and the cost-of-living crisis.

In subsequent shows, Salix Homes customers are invited to get involved and send in your questions related to our homes, communities and housing services, to be answered over the airwaves by our leadership team.

Sue said: “We are really excited to be working with Salford City Radio to launch our new show, which we hope will help strengthen our connection with our customers across Salford, providing an additional communication channel for people to engage with us directly.

“At Salix Homes, we pride ourselves on being more than just a landlord, we’re here to support our customers and strengthen our communities. We’ll be answering questions from our customers on air, sharing important news and information about housing, our services, our events and activities, and providing practical advice and support.

“If you’ve got a housing issue or a question about housing matters, then we’d love to hear from you. Please tune in to get your questions answered and hear the latest news and information from your landlord.”

‘Let’s Talk Housing with Salix Homes’ will air every Wednesday at 10am, starting on 6 March. It’s hosted by Salford City Radio Manager Jill Bowyer alongside different senior colleagues from Salix Homes, who will be able to talk about different topics and service areas, as well as answer customers’ questions.

Host Jill Bowyer said: “We’re really looking forward to working with Salix Homes, and having such an interactive and informative show on our schedule.”
