Salix Homes shortlisted for national community award
Salix Homes has been named as a finalist in the National Housing Federation’s Community Impact Awards, celebrating the diverse range and achievements of neighbourhood projects across the country.
We are in the running for the Better Neighbourhoods category in recognition of our efforts to improve conditions, facilities and community relations at Duchy Road Caravan Park in Salford.
From more than 100 entries, judges have shortlisted outstanding projects to mark Community Impact Week (16 – 22 November 2015), which is raising awareness of the work housing associations are doing in their communities that is making a real difference to local people’s lives.
The winner will be decided by a public vote, with people having until 22 November to cast their vote. Winners will be announced on 24 November.
As well as improvements to living conditions, we have worked closely with the residents to provide much needed facilities for local families and create a stable and settled community. Sue Sutton, executive director of operations at Salix Homes said: “We are all very proud of what we have achieved for the community at the Duchy Road Caravan Park, so for this project to be chosen as a finalist for the Community Impact Awards against all those other fantastic projects across the country is tremendous news.
“The transformation wouldn’t have been possible without the commitment of the local community and I’d encourage as many people as possible to take a few seconds of their time to vote”.
Anyone wanting to cast their vote can do so via The NHF website.
