Salix Homes launches new video service for deaf customers
Salix Homes is improving its customer experience for people who are deaf or hard of hearing.
We have teamed up with video interpreting organisation SignLive to make it easier for customers who use British Sign Language (BSL) to contact our call centre.
BSL users can now contact Salix Homes through our website, where they will be connected via video link to a BSL interpreter, who will relay the conversation with the call centre in real time.
Darren Ashworth, customer service delivery manager at Salix Homes, said: “Salix Homes is committed to improving access to our services for all our customers and this partnership with SignLive will enable us to make an instant connection with residents who are deaf or hard of hearing and use BSL.
“Whether a customer wants to report a repair, ask us a question, or pay their rent, we are confident that this new service will help to break down those communication barriers for our deaf customers and allow them to communicate with us quicker and easier than ever before.”
To use the SignLive service on our website, customers will need a webcam on their computer or a smartphone. Select the SignVideo link in the top right corner of our home page or sign in here.
