Salix Homes appoints Sure Maintenance to deliver gas servicing and maintenance
Salix Homes has announced that Sure Maintenance has been awarded the contract to deliver our gas servicing, maintenance and repairs services to our customers for the next five years.
We have worked with procurement experts – the Procurement Hub – to use their framework to secure the best deal, which ensures both quality and value for money, and delivers social value.
The Salix Homes Board approved the decision to award the contract to Sure Maintenance at their latest Board meeting in February, and the contract will commence from April 1 this year.
Sure Maintenance, which is part of the Sure Serve Group, works with housing associations and local authorities across the country and is responsible for gas servicing as well as installation, repairs and maintenance of the gas central heating and hot water systems at our properties.
Sue Sutton, chief executive at Salix Homes, said: “Sure Maintenance have an excellent track record in delivering quality and value for money and ensuring our gas services are compliant with the Landlord Gas Safety Record (LGSR) and other regulations, so we’re thrilled they’ve been able to secure the contract for the next five years at such a competitive rate.
“As a responsible landlord that is committed to building safety, it’s paramount that adequate and appropriate gas compliance is in place across all our properties, and thanks to Sure’s knowledge and experience, we can be confident that when it comes to gas safety, our customers and our buildings are in safe hands.
“Sure also shares our commitment to reducing our environmental impact and we look forward to working with them to develop more green initiatives in the future, which will help cut our carbon footprint and support our Net Zero ambitions across our properties.”
As part of the contract, Sure has also committed to donating £1 to charity for each time their engineers are able to gain access to our customers’ homes on the first attempt to complete the annual gas service checks.
In an average year, this could generate around £4,000 for charitable use within our communities across Salford. In addition, Procurement Hub, which is part of the affordable homes group Places for People, will contribute 1% of their annual fee charged to Sure, to one of their nominated charities.
Pat Coleman, managing director at Sure Maintenance, said: “Sure Maintenance is delighted to be awarded this five-year contract with Salix Homes to deliver their gas service and repairs contract. We look forward to building on our existing excellent relationship with Salix Homes colleagues and customers and assisting the organisation with meeting its Net Zero ambitions.”
