Salfordians show their love for their neighbourhoods
The people of Salford have shown their love for where they live as part of our annual Love Your Neighbourhood Week celebrations.
Communities came to gather for an action-packed week of activities from August 5 – 10, which aimed to encourage people to take pride in their neighbourhoods.
From garden parties in Swinton and community clean-ups in Duchy to our inaugural Springboard Heroes awards and hugely successful Boost 4 Youth Fun Day at Ordsall Park, the week showcased all that is great about Salford.
Lower Kersal Young People and Community Group were crowned winner of our Springboard Heroes Award, and we also clamped down on fly-tipping as part of our Catch the Culprit campaign.
Sue Sutton, executive director of operations at Salix Homes, said: “Love Your Neighbourhood Week proved to be a great success once again, and we’ve enjoyed a great week of family-fun, much-needed clean-ups and seen some great examples of community spirit.
“The people of Salford are famous for their pride in this great city, but thanks to Love Your Neighbourhood Week, we believe we’ve encouraged even more people to take a little bit of ownership of where they live, making a real and lasting benefit to our neighbourhoods.”
