HCA awards Salix Homes its first Regulatory Judgement

The Government’s Homes and Communities Agency (HCA) has awarded Salix Homes its highest rating for governance in its first Regulatory Judgement since becoming a stand-alone registered provider.

The social housing regulator’s recent in-depth assessment sought to assess the financial viability and governance of the housing association in line with its regulatory framework.

The HCA awarded the Salford organisation a G1 rating for governance – its highest rating – and a V2 for financial viability. The judgement means Salix Homes is fully compliant with the HCA’s regulatory framework.

Grainne Heselwood, Chair of the Salix Homes Board, said: “As a new registered provider, we see these results as a very strong and positive outcome for the organisation given we launched only last year.

“This regulatory judgement demonstrates the collective hard work of our staff, management and the communities we serve. We are delighted that our Regulator has recognised the good progress we have made in such a short space of time.

“We are extremely pleased to receive the G1 rating for governance, and the V2 rating for financial viability is as good a result as we could have expected at this point in the delivery of our five year stock transfer commitments.

“It is really important that we provide strong, valued services for our customers and independent assessments such as this ensure that we are on track and able to support them in the correct way.”
