Leadership change at Salix Homes
We have appointed a new Chair of the Board as our CEO Sue Sutton has also announced her retirement after a 25-year career in housing.
We are pleased to announce that Martin Warhurst has been appointed as the new Chair of the Board. Martin takes over the post from outgoing Chair Jim Battle, who reached the end of his term in September.
Meanwhile our CEO Sue Sutton has also announced her plans to retire next year.
Sue said: “After an incredible 25 years in the housing sector, and having had the privilege of leading Salix Homes for the past few years, I’ve decided the time is right for me to retire.
“As I prepare for my own retirement next year, I’m confident that with Martin Warhurst as the new Chair of the Board, Salix Homes is in safe hands and will continue to succeed.”
Salix Homes is supporting the new Salford Youth Zone
Salix Homes is proud to announce our support for the new Salford Youth Zone, a project aimed at providing a wide range of activities and opportunities for young people in Salford.
Over the next four years, Salix Homes will be contributing to the funding of the Youth Zone, which is set to open in summer 2025 in the heart of our community – Belvedere Road in Pendelton. The facility will be open seven days a week, offering a safe and inclusive environment for young people.
New learning hub launched to support homeless and vulnerable people in Salford
We’re excited to share that a new project has been launched in Salford to support homeless and vulnerable people with a helping hand from Salix Homes.
The Flexible Learning Hub, led by the Salford Loaves and Fishes charity aims to help individuals learn digital, employability, and life skills.
The hub offers access to personal development and accredited courses, as well as computer access and learning support. This initiative provides an opportunity for individuals to try something new and improve their future learning and employment prospects.
