Meet your team

We know how important it is to have people dealing with the issues that matter to you in the areas where you live. That’s why we have dedicated teams who aim to be a familiar face in our communities, creating closer connections with you.

Salix Homes

Your Housing Officer

Ellesse Bell

I enjoy the fact that every day is different, and I have the opportunity to meet our customers and help them resolve any issues.

Priorities for your neighbourhood

Our neighbourhood priorities are rooted in the voices and feedback of our customers. Through initiatives like our Working in Your Neighbourhood Days and engagement events such as our Month of Action, we have actively sought input from customers to shape our areas of focus. These are issues that you told us matter most to you:

Off road motorbikes

We know of the ongoing issue with off-road bikes, such as quad bikes, motorbikes, scramblers, and mini-motos, being driven dangerously in our community. The reckless behaviour associated with these vehicles has caused significant concern among our residents, and it is our top priority to address this issue promptly and effectively.

Our commitment involves working in close collaboration with the police to actively identify and confront the individuals who are responsible for this behaviour. We will provide support to the police by offering any evidence at our disposal that could aid them in criminal prosecutions. In addition, we are fully prepared to pursue legal action, including seeking civil injunction orders and initiating possession proceedings, whenever necessary, to curtail this behaviour and safeguard our community.

Untidy properties and gardens

Residents must ensure their gardens don’t become overgrown or accumulate litter, as this can cause nuisance to neighbours, attract vermin, and pose health and safety risks. Your housing officer will regularly check the estate during routine walkabouts to ensure that gardens and properties are tidy and well maintained. We are working with tenants and other residents to keep individual gardens free from overgrowth, rubbish, and unsightly items.

The Salix Homes Team will visit your estate during our quarterly 'Working In Neighbourhood Days' (WIN Days), where we’ll coordinate environmental initiatives and engage with you to discuss how we can improve the area.

Noise nuisance

At Salix Homes, we understand the adverse effects of noise nuisance on residents’ quality of life. We acknowledge that most noise reports we receive are related to household noise rather than anti-social behaviour. As a result, we have been collaborating with residents to implement a new approach in addressing noise complaints. This approach focuses on promoting good neighbourly relations, prevention, dispute resolution, and implementing support measures, rather than immediately resorting to enforcement.

However, we acknowledge there are instances where noise is considered anti-social, such as persistent and excessively loud music. In such cases, we will follow our anti-social behaviour process and not hesitate to take enforcement action when necessary.

To support our residents, we will work with professional mediators to find solutions, and we will also invest in additional noise monitoring equipment and other preventive measures.

Investing in your area

Over the years, we’ve invested heavily in our homes, ensuring they’re safer, cleaner and greener.

The resources allocated here are now completing planned investments from previous years due to challenges in accessing properties previously. We plan to invest £5k in 2024 and have another £300k planned investment work in 2025 for your area.

These investments will deliver some fantastic improvements to homes which will bring them up to modern standards, improve energy efficiency and the safety and security of you and your family.
