Going green at Canon Hussey court
Salix Homes have been working with groundwork at Canon Hussey Court in Islington to run a new gardening club.
Community Involvement and New Initiatives Officer Sian Sharples helped launch the new initiative on 13 April. She comments; “It was great working with a number of residents on this new and exciting project. We have planted lots of vegetables and salad which should be ready to harvest in about 8-12 weeks!”
If you are interested in getting involved in the gardening club, the next session will be on 20 April at Canon Hussey Court.
The free workshop will show you how to; grow food, fruit and flowers and find out about gardening topics such as seed sowing, soil preparation, gardening for wildlife, growing edible corps, pruning and plant identification.
