Salix Homes flies the flag for IDAHOT

Salix Homes has been flying the rainbow flag at its head office on Peel Cross Road to mark IDAHOT – International Day Against Homophobia and Transphobia, which took place on Sunday, May 17.

IDAHOT is celebrated every year to promote equality for lesbians, gay, bisexual and trans people worldwide.

Lee Sugden, chief executive at Salix Homes, said:“Salford is a fantastically diverse community and here at Salix Homes we actively promote equality among our employees and our tenants through our very own LGBT group – Pride in Salix, which gives a voice to the minority groups in our communities.

“We are very proud to fly the rainbow flag on IDAHOT as a mark of respect to the gay, lesbian and trans gender community in Salford.”

IDAHOT marks the date that homosexuality was removed from the International Classification of Diseases of the World Health Organisation on May 17 1992.
