The Salix Stars Awards recognise groups and individuals who are making a difference in their community.
This year awards will be handed out in five categories including Aim High Star, Best Green Star, Young Rising Star, Shelagh Delaney Creativity Award and Spirit of Salford Star.
Among those vying for the gongs include inspirational teenagers, environmental campaigners and charity fundraisers.
For the first time, the winners have been chosen by the public with almost 1,000 casting their vote to crown their community heroes.
Lee Sugden, chief executive at Salix Homes, said: “Voting has been very close, but the people of Salford have spoken and we look forward to crowning our Salix Stars of Salford this evening.
“Our city is home to some genuinely inspiring people as the heart-warming stories behind this year’s awards finalists demonstrate and we are very proud to be able to honour them in this way.
“Every single one of our amazing finalists is a deserving winner who goes to extraordinary lengths to help others. I wish all the finalists the best of luck and they should all be incredibly proud of what they have achieved.”
