Serve up a 'Salix Slammer'

Salix Homes staff have raised a glass to support an alcohol awareness event in Salford.

Members of our neighbourhood team took part in the event at St Sebastian’s Community Centre, which aimed to provide people in our communities with support in relation to issues surrounding alcohol misuse.

To mark the occasion our Neighbourhood Team for Duchy, Charlestown and Kersal put their mixing and shaking skills to the test to create our very own ‘mocktail’ – The Salix Slammer.

Neighbourhood manager Mick Walsh said: “We were really happy with how the event went, and visitors couldn’t get enough of our tasty mocktails.

“Alcohol Awareness is a really important service for many people in our communities, and we were very proud to support it.”

Salix Homes helped support the event through our Springboard fund – our community grant programme which provides funding for local projects and initiatives that promote health and wellbeing, improve the environment, boost community spirit, or reduce isolation.

Since launching Springboard this summer, Salix Homes, which owns more than 8,300 properties in Salford, has donated almost £30,000 to dozens of local causes.
