The people of Salford show their love for where they live
Proud Salfordians have been ‘loving where they live’ as part of our annual Love Your Neighbourhood Week celebrations.
Communities came together for an action-packed week of activities and celebrations to mark Salix Homes’ third annual event, which took place from August 19 – 23 and aims to encourage people to take pride in their neighbourhoods.
From family-fun days, community clean-ups and our first ever Youth Conference hosted by our Boost4Youth panel, the week of action has been a great success.
The Fountains care home in Swinton were also crowned winners of our second ever Springboard Heroes Awards, scooping the £1,000 cash prize after receiving the most public votes.
Sue Sutton, our executive director of operations, said: “Love Your Neighbourhood Week 2019 has proved to be a huge success once again with the people of Salford turning out to show some love for where they live.
“We hope this renewed sense of community spirit will continue long after the Love Your Neighbourhood Week celebrations finish and encourage people to take a little pride in where they live which will have lasting benefits for the whole community.”
