Santa visits Salix Homes’ customers with help from Foundation 92 and Salford City FC
Christmas came early for ourresidents in Lower Kersal, thanks to Foundation 92 and Salford City FC.
Hoping to spread some festive cheer after a particularly tough year, the charity delivered over 700 presents to more than 500 houses with help from an army of staff, players and volunteers.
Foundation 92 is an independent charity formed by the Class of ’92, which aims to improve the prospects of people in Salford through sport.
Thanks to the support of Salix Homes, Clarion Futures, Irwell ValleyFoundation, Mosscare St Vincent’s and OnwardHomes, the charity has been delivering weekly free youth engagement, outreach, accredited learning and health improvement activities.
Tom Hutton, Head of Foundation 92, said: “It has been an absolute pleasure to give back to the Salford community in the run up to Christmas. We wanted to help put a smile on people’s faces after this incredibly tough year.”
Inspired by Marcus Rashford’s campaign, Foundation 92 also made it their mission to provide free meals for children in Salford. During the second lockdown in November, the charity provided 450 families across Salford with food parcels and essential items, including in Salix Homes’ neighbourhoods.
Sue Sutton, ourchief executive, added: “This year has been one of the toughest we’ve ever seen, so we’re so glad that residents in Lower Kersal were able to get some extra Christmas cheer; and we’re very proud to be able to support Foundation 92 to continue the wonderful work they do to help local families across Salford.”
